Bad Deck Monday #3 – Weavile / Exeggcute

The third episode of Bad Deck Monday is now available on our YouTube channel. In this week we make our way over to the Expanded format and see if we can make Weavile from Plasma Freeze work in the Expanded Format, of course using Exeggcute and its Propogation Ability to give us Pokemon for our Vilify attacks. Weavile had some run during its time in Standard format, was very popular in Legacy format when that was first introduced, so with the new bans and being able to use Abilities more freely we will see if we can make Weavile work in Expanded.

You can find both the video and the decklist used in the video below.

Pokemon – 22

2 Sneasel NXD
1 Sneasel CES
1 Sneasel FLF 51
4 Weavile PLF
4 Exeggcute PLF
1 Archen PLB
1 Tirtouga PLB
1 Lileep PLB
1 Mr. Mime PLF
2 Tapu Lele GX
2 Remoraid BKT 32
2 Octillery BKT

Trainers – 29

3 Professor Juniper
1 N
1 Colress
2 Guzma
1 Xerosic

4 Ultra Ball
4 VS Seeker
4 Dark Patch
2 Battle Compressor
2 Rescue Stretcher
1 Dowsing Machine
2 Float Stone

2 Shrine of Punishment

Energy – 9

5 Darkness
4 Counter

After playing some games with this, I think you can probably go ahead and cut one of the restored Pokemon, and that would open up room for a tech slot for something like Oricorio for Night March or Giratina Promo for Trevenant and Greninja.

Another potential change would be to cut out Shrine of Punishment for some more consistency cards. These could become Level Ball, or like other Stage 1 decks, Tropical Beach is very good for your early game setup, so that is also an option if you own Tropical Beach.
